[...] I like to balance it out with smaller companies as well as larger more established blue chip names. Brystol Myers Squibb (ticker: BMY) is one of those names and today they rewarded their shareholders with a nice holiday [...]
I suggest adding a “google+” button for the blog!

Great to see real numbers to go with all of the hand-waving on Seeking Alpha and other sites — thanks, DDI!
Wasn’t this a very expensive portfolio to assemble wrt commissions? So many small holdings…just wondering what the brokerage’s bite was. Expenses can seriously affect returns — which I learned selling off my stepdad’s back-end load bond funds for my mom! Thanks again for sharing.
Great question – I’m planning to address the brokerage fee issue in a future post. I’m using an account that gives me 100 free trades (Wells Fargo) each year. Otherwise, you’re right, it would be detrimental to try and buy so many small positions. Thanks for stopping by. Neil

Great for you. I don’t own CP yet, but long-term, I’d like too. You keep this one (like other CDN dividend-payers?) untgsierered?BTW – you have an impressive portfolio list. Keep up the great work. I’ll try and stop by again soon.
The Dividend Express rarely diinpposats. I own both CNR & CP and it’s surprising to examine the two companies and note their relative strengths. Even though CP has less exposure to the US CNR continues to outperform them. I think this is one of the best management groups of any CDN public company. And here I wanted to add to my position under $40 (too slow!)
I have shares in Telus and I like hte storng divvy. It better not decrease! I’m thinking that now that they have iPhones available, it may bring some positive aspects to the results of next quarter.Nice thread.
Do you have a list with the actual dividend yields?
Hey Carl. I have to apologize the list of holdings on the blog isn’t the cleanest.
You can find my google document spreadsheet with all the holdings here: http://bit.ly/zS8qbu
It was last updated in November – I’m in the process of updating the list right now.
It doesn’t show the yields, but that’s a great idea and I’ll go ahead and add that info!
You have noted very interesting points! ps nice website.

[...]This website was… how do you say it? Relevant!! Finally I’ve found something that helped me. Thank you![...]…
The differences beetewn CP and CNR should not matter much in the long term. What I like about CP is their tie ins with commodities and energy related goods. This is a long term developing market play as well as wide moat firm. In the short term lagging fuel surcharges should help all transportaiton firms including UPS, FedEx, and US railroads.

Really interesting subject, thank you for placing up.
Keep on working, great job!
Great post. For years, I have always wanetd to own a position in Saputo but I found the dividend yield was fairly low, so I was forced to wait until my dividend investment strategy reached a certain point before I could dive in.A couple of weeks ago, I finally bought shares in Saputo and I can tell you that I am pleased with owning part of this company. In my view, it is a recession resistant company and now I make sure my milk and cheese are Saputo products!Great job at highlighting the performance of this large cap blue chip. The numbers are impressive.TWC
